Tips to help you give up smoking

Here are some great tips for giving up smoking, there not guaranteed but they will hopefully help.

Tips before starting to give up smoking

  • When you have decided to give up smoking, make sure you have everything you think you will need before giving up, this does not include a packet of cigarettes!
  • Make sure you have lots of chewing gum and lollipops near by when trying to give up smoking.
  • Get an ashtray and put some burnt cigarettes in and fill it with water, this should give a really nasty smell so if you feel like having a cigarette, try smelling it before hand and it should put you off.
  • When you wake up in the morning, try having a few puffs of a flavored Gamucci electronic cigarette. This should help your ‘Early morning fix’ it will give you the nicotine to satisfy cravings but not taste like tobacco so will not tempt you to smoke a traditional cigarette.
  • Make sure you get rid of everything to do with smoking, including lighters, matches etc..
  • Try writing down all the reasons why you want to give up smoking, e.g for health, financial or family reasons.
  • If you have children try imagining what it would be like telling them you have a very fatal smoking related illness, this should hopefully help you to think twice before smoking another cigarette.
  • Make sure you have a really good clean up of your house, use air freshener to cover up the smell of smoke and make sure you vacuum all your carpets, apart from keeping you occupied whilst not smoking this will help make sure your not tempted to smoke again due to being reminded of cigarettes because of the smell.

Tips for after you have given up smoking.

  • Make sure you have everything to do with smoking thrown out, make sure you don’t have anything smoking related around you.
  • Tell your friends who smoke that you have given up smoking and ask them kindly not to smoke around you.
  • With the money you save from not smoking try treat yourself to a small gift, your favorite chocolate or maybe some new clothes or if you feel generous you could donate it to your favorite charity.
  • Make sure you keep up the good work and don’t return to smoking traditional cigarettes, now you should be feeling a lot healthier maybe try join a gym or if you cant afford to join a gym try jogging round your local community.
  • If you do feel the craving of having a cigarette, try thinking of why you give up in the first place.
  • If your feeling stressed, try buying a stress ball or when you feel stressed try counting backwards from 20 slowly.
  • If you usually smoke after a meal or when having a drink keep an Eigarette disposable electronic cigarette in your pocket or handbag.
